Islamabad, April, 14, 2007: Senator Nisar A. Memon, Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Defence and Defence Productions addressed a Press Conference in Parliament House, Islamabad and told the media men about the successful visit of the Senate Standing Committee on Defence and Defence Production to China. Shanghai, April, 10, 2007: The Senate Standing Committee on Defence and Defence Production led by Senator Nisar A. Memon led by Senator Nisar A. Memon visited the Chengdu Aircraft Design and Research Institute for briefing on the design of JF-17 aircraft besides Chengdu Aircraft Industrial Corporation to see the production line of JF-178. .

Shanghai, April, 09, 2007: The Senate Standing Committee on Defence and Defence Production led by Senator Nisar A. Memon led by Senator Nisar A. Memon visited the Hudong-Zhonghua Ship Building Group in Shanghai. The delegation was received by the senior management of the company.

Beijing, April, 04, 2007: The Senate Standing Committee on Defence and Defence Production led by Senator Nisar A. Memon visited the Great Hall of the People for a meeting with Madam He Luli, Vice Chairperson of the National People’s Congress. Later the delegation visited the National Defence University.

Beijing, April, 02, 2007: A 7-member delegation of the Senate Standing Committee on Defence and Defence Production led by Senator Nisar A. Memon arrived at Beijing. Soon after arrival the delegation went into a meeting with Mr. Wang Zhen, Vice President of the Institute. Welcoming the delegation Mr. Zhen said that blue sky and winds are quite rare in Beijing but with the coming of quests from Pakistan this rarity has occurred today which augurs well for our all weather relationship.

Islamabad, April, 01, 2007: Senator Nisar A. Memon along with other members of the Senate Standing Committee on Defence and Defence Productions leave for China for a week long visit on the invitation by Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA).

Islamabad, March, 02, 2007: Senator Nisar A. Memon participated in the PTV programme “News Morning” along with Sri Lankan, Korean and Chairperson of National Standing Committee on Environment on subject of 13th Asia Pacific Parliamentarians Conference on Environment and Development hosted by Senate of Pakistan.

Islamabad, February 8, 2007: Senator Nisar A. Memon, Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Defence and Defence Production participated in the Workshop on Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW) and the proposed Armed Trade Treaty held in Manila, Philippines on 6th and 7th February, 2007.

Karachi, January, 15, 2007: Senator Nisar A. Memon after having an official visit to Iran and Uzbekistan returned here today. The Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs visited Iran and Uzbekistan, Nisar A. Memon being the member of the Committee also accompanied the delegation which met with Iranian Parliamentarians to strengthen bilateral ties through an inter parliamentary dialogue on regional issues, particularly Afghanistan, the issue of extremism and terrorism, and ways and means to promote and protect the image of Islam internationally.

Karachi, January, 02, 2007: The President General Pervaiz Musharraf has facilitated the people of Sindh on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. This he said to a large number people who gathered at Senator Nisar A. Memon’s Secretariat on the Second day of Eid. People comprised, Lawyers, Businessmen, KESC employees Union, Pakistan Steel Mills Employees Union, Labour leaders, party leaders and workers of Pakistan Muslim League and general public.

The President said that he and the people of Karachi and Sindh trust on the leadership of Senator Nisar A. Memon.

He also assured the people that Senator Nisar A. Memon is his old guard and he said that he firmly believes that the people of Karachi and Sindh will fully support him so that Pakistan can become stronger.

Islamabad, December 22, 2006: The Chairman, Senate Standing Committee on Defence and Defence Production and Additional Secretary General of Pakistan Muslim League, Senator Nisar A. Memon has said that Pakistan is strong today because of strong institutions, like Defence and Economy and political institutions are becoming stronger too as  parliament has entered in its 5th successful year. He said this at a reception hosted in his honour by The Consul General of Poland in Karachi, Mr. Irenuesz Makles.

The Senator also said that our media is also free and about 50 TV channels are operating in the country, which is the policy of the President General Pervaiz Musharraf’s team in which Senator Nisar A. Memon was part of it in 2002.

Karachi, December 21, 2006: A Round Table Meeting on “Karachi Waste management – Challenge for Progress” was conducted by Senator Nisar A. Memon today at Institute of Public Management.

In which  prospects of Waste Management of the Karachi City along with the issues, problems, challenges, suggestions, ideas and recommendations by the stakeholders were discussed. It also identified the current cost effective practices that reflect global and regional experiences of economically and environmentally sound waste management capable of replication. The role of Industries, NGO’s and Government in the management of waste were also defined..

Karachi, December 17, 2006: Senator Nisar A. Memon Senator Nisar A. Memon has said that Pakistan is strong today because of strong political institutions, like parliament has entered in its 5th successful year. This he said today, in his speech as a Chief Guest, while addressing a function organized by Baqai Medical Complex, Gharo. The function was in honour of Dr. Faridud Din Baqai for getting Life time Achievement award from President of Pakistan for his services in health and education.

Thatta, December 04, 2006: Senator Nisar A. Memon, Chairman, Standing Committee on Defence & Defence Production visited Keti Bundar, District Thatta today. He was accompanied by Mr. Kamal Hayat, Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fundh (PPAF), Mr. Asif Merchant, Chief Executive, Agha Khan Planning and Building Services (AKPBS) and other officials. The purpose of the visit was to review projects being undertaken by PPAF and AKPBS.

Senator Nisar A. Memon also inaugurated the major scheme of supply of electricity to Village Mohammad Ali Chollani, District Thatta.

Karachi, November 24, 2006: Senator Nisar A. Memon attended the Joint Forces Display -Ideas 2006 at PNS Qasim, Karachi. Many events were presented at the Display by Pakistan Army, Air Force and Navy.

Karachi, November 20, 2006: Senator Nisar A. Memon attended the inauguration ceremony of Ideas 2006 at Expo Center, Karachi. The exhibition was organized by the Ministry of Defence in which defence equipment of Pakistan was displayed which attracted many diplomats and other dignitaries.

Karachi, November 06, 2006: Senator Nisar A. Memon lead a rally which started from Quaidabad Chowk, Landhi just after Malir Bridge and finished at PIPRI where he addressed the public gathering and assured them that the present government is taking steps to improve the life standards of the people of Karachi.

Karachi, October 6, 2006: Senator Nisar A. Memon, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Defence and Defence Production called on Lt. General Syed Athar, Core Commander, Karachi. They discussed the issues of mutual interests. He also called on Administrator of D.H.A, Brig. Kamran Qazi who briefed him about the projects pertaining to the DHA developments, civic facilities planned for the citizens.

Karachi, August 14, 2006: Senator Nisar A. Memon inaugurated a cycle race organized on Pakistan’s Independence Day by Sindh Cycling Association and sponsored by Pakistan Steels. Senator Nisar A. Memon announced Rs. 3,00,000 for the Sindh Cycling Association for purchase of new Olympic Cycles

Thatta, August 14, 2006: Senator Nisar A. Memon established a medical relief camp for the flood affectees of Ketibundar.

Rawalpindi, July 27, 2006: Senator Nisar A. Memon said that making small loans available to poor people will help in poverty reduction and progress of the country. He was addressing the large gathering of customers in a road show held by The Pak Oman Microfinance Bank at Chak Jalaldin Rawalpindi today. He also distributed the cheques amongst the borrowers of the bank

Islamabad, July 15, 2006: Senator Nisar A. Memon expressed his shock and grieve over the terrorist attack in Karachi resulting in the Shahadat of Allama Hassan Turabi and others. He offered condolences to the bereaved family and the people of Pakistan on this occasion.

Nisar A. Memon strongly condemned this terrorist act and call upon the Government of Sindh to unearth the conspiracies against the people and the country and seek all support from Federal Government to bring the culprits to the books.

Karachi, June 30, 2006: Mr. Nisar Baloch, Chairman Karachi NGO’s Alliance called on Senator Nisar A. Memon at his residence in Karachi and discussed the problems being faced by the residents of their Goth. Later they visited Abdul Rehman Goth, Hawks Bay, Karachi where the Senator addressed the villagers in Town Hall and assured them of his support in resolving their water through pipeline problem and land regularization problem. The Union Council Nazim, Mr. Mubarak Sangha Baloch presented details of problems of areas and his efforts.

Karachi, June 28, 2006: Mr. Manzoor Ahmed Memon, President United Memon Jamat of Pakistan along with other members of Jamat and Nazim of Union Council Memon Goth called on Senator Nisar A. Memon at his residence in Karachi and discussed the problems faced by the residents of their Goth.

Later they visited Murad Memon Goth and reviewed the Hospital and Artificial Lake on Malir River. Senator Nisar A. Memon assured them of his support to solve their problems.

Islamabad, June 21, 2006: Senator Nisar A. Memon while participating in the Fifth Meeting of the Parliamentary Consultative Group on Women’s Issues-PCGWI felt that what is needed in Pakistan most urgently is good governance through strengthened democratic institutions-political parties and parliament. He opined that monitoring of MDGs that impact women-including safe drinking water, health, education – was very important and PCGWI should take up this issue in the year ahead. He said that parliamentary committees can take up oversight on these issues and play an effective and meaningful role.
